Comment / It's quite a challenge to get your levels right from the Railway Station observation deck at Dusseldorf, with the horizon, runways and taxiways all appearing to run at different perspectives!

Comment / The CRJs and ATRs of Lufthansa Regional are the same to Dusseldorf as Ryanair Boeing 737-800s are to Stansted, or British Airways Airbus A32Xs are to Heathrow!

Comment / D-ABBN taxis out for a runway 23L departure having arrived from London Stansted only half an hour earlier with myself onboard. Note the Lufthansa Regional ATR-72 on short finals for 23R.

Comment / D-ALPH is the youngest A330 in the LTU fleet, delivered from Toulouse on 12th April 2006.

Comment / The terminal roof terrace also offers some great views of the ramp at Dusseldorf. Here MD-87 SE-DIF taxis in after landing on runway 23R, with a KLM Cityhopper F50 about to do exactly the same.

Comment / This Boeing 737 previously served across the border in Belgium, joining Sobelair as OO-SBZ in July 1987. Photo taken at mid-afternoon from the observation deck at the Railway Station.

Comment / It was great to see the SAS retro A319, OY-KBO, at Dusseldorf, painted as such to celebrate the airline's 60th anniversary and named Christian Valdemar Viking. She is the first of four A319s on order with Airbus, and appears at present to route to Dusseldorf from Copenhagen on a regular basis.

Comment / Another unexpected arrival at Dusseldorf was this An-124 inbound from Sharjah via Burgas.

Comment / Those LTU Airbus A330s could certainly do with a new coat of red paint! Here a series -200, D-ALPC, makes her way to the threshold of runway 23L, as Air France A318 F-GUGJ arrives on 23R.
